With The 4th of July coming up we thought we would share an adorable beachy American Flag Project. If the beachy vibe isn’t your style don’t worry, this DIY has you covered for a more traditional style too.
What your going to need;
- Rustic Wooden Flag (we got ours “here”)
- Bleached White Knobby Starfish shells (we got ours “here”)
- Pixie Dust Paint Additive “here”
- Latex paint (color Choices are up to you)
- Sanding sponge (220)
- Pixie Dust Hemp wax “here“
- E6000 or any similar type of glue
Lets get Started!! First you are going to take your pre-made Wooden flag and give it a light sand, this just ensures that you have a nice uniform base to start with. Once sanded wipe down and remove any debris.
Next you are going to mix your pixie dust into your latex paint, mix the pixie dust in each color you have chosen to create your very own chalk paint!!
Once your chalk paint is ready simply paint each “stripe” a single color, whether that be good ‘ol red, white, and blue or minty green and white or perhaps your own color combo! Once dry give it a light sand to get rid of any unwanted brush stroke marks. (You can also distress it at this point too if your want a more rustic vibe.)
Seal with Pixie Dust Hemp Wax, then simply glue your starfish on! It really is that easy!
Hope you enjoyed this quick little project!
Happy 4th of July!
